Amron Community Aidpost in ward seven of North Ambenob Local Level Government in Madang Province have recieved health workers after three years.
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea General Secretary Bernard Kaisom, National Lutheran Health Secretary Japalis Kaiok and Madang/Sepik regional health manager Rondy Maso officially presented two female community health workers to Amron village on May 26th, 2025.
The community of Amron and surrounding villages welcomed the two health workers including the delegates expressing their appreciation because they will now access health services at ease instead of walking or travelling to nearby health facilities.
Amron community health chairman Olol Mal said their aidpost was constructed and opened in March, 2022 but was left unstaffed.
Mr Mal said the ward really need a health facility and Madang District Development Authority under the leadership of MP Bryan Kramer gave K72,000.
He said the aidpost was completed and due to some issues, it was not staffed and they have to walked or travelled by PMV to nearest health facility which is Baitabag aidpost, Sek health centre or to Modilon General Hospital during the three years of waiting.
“I am relief and thankful to ELCPNG and National LHS for facilitating our request and tasked LHS MASE Region to post two health workers to our aidpost.
“Amron community take the initiative to build their house, kitchen and toilet in our village so we can look after them while completing the new staff house that is still under construction next to the aidpost,” Mr Mal said.
Amron Community Chairman Barui Lill said many lives have been lost due to long distances and this aidpost will not serve ward seven and nearby communities but communities in wards nine and ten as well.

Mr Lill thanked the church for giving two health workers to Amron aidpost adding that now it will be in operation making health services accessible to those who needs medical assistances.
ELCPNG General Secretary Bernard Kaisom said Amron aidpost is priviledge to get health workers because they already have a new aidpost funded by Madang DDA.
Mr Kaisom said other church districts requested for health facilities and health workers and they are still working on their requests adding that Amron community and nearby communities accessing health services from Amron aidpost must take ownership of looking after such services and the service providers.
LHS secretary Japalis Kaiok emphasize on the attitude of don’t care, vandalism and destruction to such vital services.
Mr Kaiok said this aidpost is build and health workers are posted to this aidpost because you need health services so look after it and don’t try to do anything silly.
He told them to respect, approach and care for the health workers including the aidpost as he will not hesitate to close the aidpost if any reports of carelessness, drunkards, damages or attacks reached his office.
I am glad Amron HC is up and running to serve its community (Eventually), use solar energy to run basic Laboratory Services (Modilon can come help set up/train staff etc…)
